Day one: the historic centre

Start at Freedom Square, walk up Rustaveli Avenue and visit the National Museum.

In the afternoon head into Old Tbilisi, cross the Bridge of Peace and go up to Narikala, then spend the evening in Abanotubani.

Day two: views and neighbourhoods

In the morning take the funicular up to Mtatsminda, where the city panorama opens up.

In the second half of the day explore the Sololaki district, then return to the centre for dinner.

  • Funicular — Mtatsminda Park and its views
  • Sololaki — architecture and cafés
  • Narikala — the fortress and the panorama
  • Abanotubani — the sulphur baths

Planning tips

The square works as the starting point on both days — the metro and the transport card are both available right there.

If you have time left, consider a day trip to Mtskheta, which is close to Tbilisi.
